Area
The property is located in the Collayomi Valley on the North slope of Mt St
Helena, which looms over the
northern end of the Napa Valley on its South side. This country is among the
most pristine in this area,
with much of the original forests remaining and the
creeks running clear and clean. A huge Manzanita grove
is home to hundreds of California Quail. We're located 4 miles from Middletown,
where there is fine dining at Boar's Breath Restaurant,
massage and workshops at
Harbin Hot Springs, Geothermal Museum and
Tours and beer at
Mt St Helena Brewery.
Several fine antique stores and wineries are within easy driving or bicycling
distance. Just 2 miles away is
Twin Pines Casino. Over the mountain to Calistoga,
20 minutes away, brings you to a wide selection of World Class wineries,
restaurants and shopping.
Accommodations
Our three cottages were built in 1997, when we opened our doors. The Innkeepers live in the main house, located several hundred feet from the cottages. Landscaping is an ongoing project as we develop more areas into gardens and wetlands. The birds are a constant source of entertainment
Each cottage is furnished with a
King-sized bed with a skylight above. Each has a private bath. The Aquarius
Cottage is
wheelchair
accessible with a
shower big
enough for a party!
There is
also
a refrigerator
and coffee maker in each. A TV and VCR is in each cottage and you have access to
the Inn's extensive video
collection. For your comfort there is a fireplace,
air conditioner and
overhead fan. A sliding glass door leads to a private redwood deck from which
you look at lawns, gardens, the quail, the
Manzanita Grove, the pond, waterfall
and a clear
view of Mt St Helena.
Breakfast
Breakfast starts with fresh orange juice and proceeds to main dishes such as French toast, huevos
rancheros, pancakes, frittata, smoked salmon, eggs to your taste and bacon or sausage. Fresh fruits and vegetables from our organic garden
are seasonally available at
breakfast and for the picking. Of course we
can accommodate special diets.
The Kaluses from Hamburg
We host a country breakfast in
the dining room of the main house on weekends and holidays and provide breakfast
in your cottage during the week. There
is a refrigerator for your use and Half 'n' Half is stocked each day to have
with coffee or
tea
which you can make in your cottage.
There is a private phone line in each cottage for local calls and calling card calls. We have Wireless Satellite High Speed Internet available in the cottages.
Certified Therapeutic Massage is available here. Greta has been trained at the Harbin Hot Springs School of Shiatsu and Massage. Reservations can be made in advance. Gift Certificates are available for Massage or for Reservations!
The hot tub is very comfortable for
two people. It's located on the outdoor deck of the main house. We invite
you to soak in a hot tub under the clear skies of the mountains, watching the
milky way ...
or enjoy your soak in a
light rain.
Cotton robes are provided for your walk to the hot tub.
The Mainzers from Ft Bragg
Croquet can be set-up on the lawn ... it's regulation size!!
Weather
It wouldn't be an understatement to say that the weather is always wonderful! Even the occasional snowfall is a delight.
And wildlife is always present, just stand still and watch!
